A letter to Team Anna and everyone who was part of this historic event (whether the person was for or against it)!!
First of all Heartiest Congratulations to Team Anna and the efforts of thousands and thousands of fellow Indians (in India and abroad) who dedicated themselves to this revolution and brought the govt to its knees.
Now,
To all my dear pessimists, ignorant ppl and the critics of Jan Lokpal bill..
Not getting into complexities of the draft, I just want to convey a very simple message.We already have several agencies over every govt. dept. for keeping a check on corruption. Seldom do they work!
Even if the new Jan Lokpal bill doesnt work in future, one more incompetent agency will be added to the list of infinite number of such anti-corruption agencies.
BUT BUT BUT, if this agency worked fine or even managed to create a sense of check, or be able to generate fear in minds of our dear politicians and bureaucrats, the whole purpose of Anna's fight would be solved. He cannot fight the battle alone. All he wanted was a start, beginning of a change, a platform to improve things from where they are right now!!
From now on the onus lies on us (every Indian citizen). How we all, at the grass-root level start our fight against corruption. Take a strong stand against anything and everything which resembles corruption.
This historic turn of events has definitely laid the foundation of a new era for India. Lets hope that the bill and the committee to be formed later, works efficiently atleast for a few years and we might see a new India emerging from Ashes of corrupt past :) :)
